What Happens During a Dental Checkup and Cleaning?
During your visit to our office, you will be greeted by our warm and friendly staff before being escorted to have X-rays taken. This part of the examination isn’t necessary each time you come in for an appointment; however, if it has been a while since your last visit, we will need to take full X-rays to better understand what is happening underneath the gum line.
One of our qualified dental professionals will begin examining your teeth, gums, neck, jaw, and throat to check for any signs or symptoms associated with gum disease, tooth decay, or oral cancer. They will also check any dental restorations for chips or cracks.
Once they are finished examining your mouth, one of our dental hygienists will begin to thoroughly clean your teeth and gums, removing plaque and tartar buildup, as well as flossing and polishing your teeth.
But if you think your time spent with us will be just for a quick exam and dental cleaning, you’ll be happy to learn that we pride ourselves on taking our time to ensure you have additional tips to keep your oral health in good shape while at home.
Regular dental checkups and cleanings are a great way for us to help keep your oral health on track. By identifying problems in their earliest stages, we can avoid costly procedures in the future and keep your natural teeth looking and feeling as good as possible for years to come.
What if Problems Are Present?
Should one of our dentists find a problem area existing within your oral cavity, they will map out a treatment plan that outlines what can be done to remedy the issue. Whether it is a cavity, gum disease, oral cancer, or even chronic jaw pain, we will always make sure your individual needs are met and that you are in agreement with the personalized plan.
You can trust that at Royal Dental Care, our team will provide complete transparency regarding your dental care, and we will never suggest a procedure or treatment unless we believe it is absolutely necessary. We also understand that dental work can be costly, which is why we want you to feel confident in making the right decision as it pertains to your oral health.
